As far as using our common sense, if the manual states manufacturers name, postcode and bs mark, then thats all I will be accepting. We dinnae make the rules, but if we break them, then we have to put up with the consequenses. And we know what these will be. If they are no happy, show them the new poster we all got. If joe bloggs down the road is gonnae accept illegal plates, let them go there, once he gets caught out, they will be back the next year with their tail between their legs.

Is it really worth losing authoisation just so we don't upset the odd customer as they have to spend a £10 on a new set of plates.
