Had a call this morning, could i look at the brakes on a 2001 Honda Accord 1.8

While driving in traffic he braked and the car locked up, unable to move he called a friend who tried it in reverse, it freed up and heard something metalic drop on the road

They drove the car up to me just using the caliper piston instead of the brake pad , he did not have recovery
