Hi Lads,had a good one today Renault Clio 2004 ,1200, 16v EngineD4F 722 Codes P0272,P0271,P0262,P0264, checked all normal things plugs, leads,compressions 190 lbs average,no air leaks,but No4 cyl (No1) to me had annoying misfire on tickover and MIL flashed,but good on higher revs no MIL flashing, slightly high HCs started thinking injector as women told me she had run out of petrol a week before,pulled off inlet manifold without disconnecting injector's cranked engine to look at spray patterns OK? lucky for me looked on data disc saw they were manual adjusting tappets(thinking shims)was i amazed to see ordinary adjusting tappets on a 16v engine.(exhausts tight)i just took it for granted they were hydraulic ,now runs perfect.What a performance to adjust tappets.Anyway funny part of story she said she had a knocking noise at about 50mph sounded in n/s rear 2 of us spent an hour looking climbing around in the back just about gave up no joy?but as i reversed out bumped down kerb heard the noise and lucky again my son standing outside saw it,you'll never guess,roof aerial had a mickey mouse rubber ball on the end banging on the roof but only at 50mph.Sorry about going on but i had to tell someone
