I would like to bring to the attention of all D40 owners the lack of paint depths and corrosion issues I have on my vehicle and to act now !!!!!!
Please check your roof gullies very carefully as due to the lack of paint applied from factory corrosion may be present and requires urgent attention. Patchy non matching panels with no protection from any so called 'Fall Out' due to no paint depth/protection is also a problem. 'Fall Out' a favorite excuse term given for the paintwork faults from Customer Services when they try and fob you off!
I have fought long and hard with the dealers and Nissan Customer Services since February and been given the serious run around. I'm sure most of you have experienced this at some point!
I have not let them get away with this and relentlessly chased.
They have now reluctantly agreed to repaint the roof but refusing to accept any other defective paintwork as warranty despite several independent and Nissan Approved body shops giving them the reason of poor initial paint procedure causing the problem. Lack of / No paint!
I have not let them paint the vehicle's roof as I feel they should not be able to choose to only repair parts of the problem. I would prefer to tell and show the world!
There is a 3 year paintwork warranty and 12 year corrosion warranty. THE PAINTWORK DEFECTS HAD TO HAVE BEEN THERE FROM DAY 1 AS MY GULLIES HAVE NO PAINT ON THEM.
The Sale Of Goods Act 1979 states 'of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose'. Satisfactory quality covers minor and cosmetic defects as well as substantial problems. It also means that products must last a reasonable time.
A consumer has 6 years from the the time they buy something in which to make a claim, irrespective of how long the goods actually last.
They should be brought to task and honour their warranty or better still recall all the vehicles like they do when forced by the authorities for the other more serious defects, I have seen 6 other Navara D40 's with these paintwork faults.
I am now persuing the case forward as advised with a National Consumer Program and hope to show you all on TV!
I would be interested to see how many other owners out there are upset or have any views about Nissan Customer Services and the poor quality of paintwork and finish on their Nissan vehicles.
Regards for now and get checking.
