Thought take a moment to say hi
Joined a few days ago and have been reading through a lot of the posts and learning as I go and hope to one day be able to contribute back.
Bit of info about myself and why am here for more knowledge
I'm Adam in. 25 from merseyside got. 2 kids and another on the way
Been a mechanic for. 9 years now started of my career in army at. 16 did 7.5 years there where I got myself a bit hooked on trying to learn this magic art of vehicle electrics
I then felt I wanted to try the big civilian world of mechanics and with my 2nd child on the way it seemed like a right thing to do
So off in search of training courses and after some advise from top technician James Dillon was my choice took his. 6 day boot camp and wow am I glad I went what a guy James is I learnt so much top guy also let me use his ramp and tools whilst there to fit my clutch which decided it wanted to partake in being friends on the journey down there.
He also returned with some chips releasing we would miss a meal that night what a guy.
Couple months on from that I managed to secure a job with a large car super market
Started there and with the skills learned from James I quickly became the guy for problems cars in the workshop
Even managing to start a corsa that had been sat for some 7 months with everyone else unable to diagnose non starting fault (it needed a BCM)
Anyway from there I was then given opportunity to attend Bosch training courses which have been great and really just re iterating what I had already learned from James
But from that managed to get decent scores and I get some nice certificates to display on the wall too
That's been around 18months I've been out for now
I'm now moving on to a small independent garage to hopefully gain more experience and carry on with training as I understand training and knowledge is vital in this game.
With the aim of slowly building up for myself but with full family to support its hard to make the decision To leap.
So that's a bit about me
Thanks for all the great info on here and hopefully get to know you guys
Regards
Adam
