I think there was an ulterior motive behind this. DVSA are short staffed and cannot get to every test station as often as they would like. It has been well over two years between my last two visits. This will force at least some garages to close, reducing the DVSA workload. Hopefully DVSA will reconsider this.
The only positive is that it may reduce the price wars and excessive discounts on MOT's with fewer test stations.
I'm closing this weekend unless any key workers need an urgent repair.
