Our main area of work is Servicing & General repairs. Its always a problem when a customer rings up for an estimate for a service or brake repairs etc. You need to quote an accurate price and the customer needs to know what he or she is getting for their money, and save any confusion when the customer collects
As we service almost new and older vehicles, we have now taken this approach, which may help or inspire others. We have had some folded leaflets printed up, which covers a FIXED price service for "Oil Service" "Interim Service" and "Standard Service" on vehicles older than 3 years from 1st registration and based on our own UKAT Service Schedule designed by members. Just give this to the customer, leave them in every vehicle that comes in, send them out with service reminders or even post them through doors localy. They look very professional and the customer knows exactly what they are getting.
As for newer vehicles...well
We have this week had a demo on the new Unipart-Direct package and signed up for module 2, which includes: DVLA reg look up, parts, service schedules and repair times. This enables us to just type in the registration, click on the service schedule required, this then gives us a list of parts required and the time for the service (which can be printed off). This enables us to quote almost instantly for a service or repair, you then click to send the order for parts to the local express factor.....cost £55:00 + VAT per month (12 month contract only....pay monthly if required after that). Well worth a demo
All the Unipart numbers can be cross referenced to other brands, with most factor prices comming into line, you should not be far out on a quote
