    Hi all,

In general, I think most of the discussions here centre on the future of the trade as regards diagnostics.
One other aspect that strikes me is the lack of major engine mechanical work due to the general quality of modern engines. In the US, for example, a punter with an older car will pay to have his engine rebuilt. This is necessary to make it pass their emissions tests. Older cars then become worth more with a pass, whereas here it is not viable to spend on older cars.
I think that European emission standards are bound to become more stringent. Your average five year old car with 100K may not pass without major engine work, but would be young enough to justify the big spend.
If this comes to pass, it will be good news for the trade in general.
These are just my thoughts, not based on anything I have heard or read.

    What do you think?

    Alan.
