Couldn't agree more, three years in this high mileage world is too long, maybe we should look at 3 years or 30,000 miles for the first MOT whichever occurs first. As regards the MOT, it is about time it was cleaned up & some critical items were brought into the scope of the MOT. The number of new cars I see with headlights set too high & blinding is terrible, yet nothing will be done for 3 years on these cars. How about the emissions, there must be plenty of sub 3 year old cars spewing out loads of gasses that they shouldn't. Perhaps the MOT stations need to get a petition up to put to VOSA.
