I have a Vectra 2.0 Di DTL model which has a flexible coupling in the exhaust which is close to expiring. Fancying a 'play' I am considering replacing the flexy with a repair pipe and removing the Cat to see what effect it has. My question is, has anyone done this with a diesel? I have known people remove cats from closed loop petrol engined vehicles in the past with no obvious ill effects (on single lambda systems anyway) and an increase in performance. Am I likely to see an increase in performance or will the lack of backpressure upset something? any ideas?

    TIA

    Shaun
