    Hi Mike

Compared to todays cars these beasts are a bit more easy to mess around with. If memory serves me correctly the clutch will probably be a combination of a couple of other cars of the day. The Lotus engine is based (loosely) on the Vauxhall Firenza. Having raced a Firenza I messed about quite a bit with clutches due to changing gearboxes etc and hopefully this should help. It depends on the size of the clutch and I am not sure but the one we had eventually was a combination on Rover 3.5 clutch cover and a BMW 2002 Tii clutch centre plate, the original release bearing had to be modified. The sizes are what you need to check as this particular set up might not suit your car (I havent played with a Sunbeam but I did mess around with a few other Lotus bits) but on ours you could move the dowels in the flywheel around to accept different clutch sizes. What you really need is a couple of different manufacturers clutch catalgues and a bit of patience to sort out the indivudual parts you need, diameter, spline size, clamp load etc.

    HTH
