    Hi John,

I recently had cause to contact Unipart bussiness systems, as I used to subscribe to Drive-in direct, which is brown brothers/partcos version of MAM software Autowork/Autocat etc.

Until two years ago I had subscribed for 6 years and as you may remember from previous posts, I was very pleased with it.

when I finished my last contract i did not renew as it was no longer required, although I still had the software on my pc but it was not being updated and the catalogue was of no use.

I had all my previous sales reports and accounts information on the system aswell as customer databases histories etc.

During a recent windows update the program stopped working but I needed the accounts info for the Inland Revenue. late last week I spent well over two hours on the phone being passed from pillar post trying to get this sorted as I NEEDED that info, the software had not timed out and no-one had been to remove it from my system!! It just had a file missing that windows had deleted.

Anyhow UNIPART said they required £1200 ie a new licence for three years in order to get it working again so i could get my data!!

Unipart said it was MAM who said this MAM said it was upto UNIPART!! SO I agree it is important to sort out who owns the data and how it is accessed if you kick them out.

I am at the moment considering moving to Andrew Page for all my parts in Future as I have spent many many rthousands of pounds with PArtco/Brown Brothers over the years and this is how I am Treated.

So Shaun If you would like to contact me to offer me exceptioal terms please do so.

    Regards,

    Mike
