    Hi

Snap-On's once unique standards and guarantee went down the pan a few years ago in my opinion.
I rarely buy off them now as a result of constant back pedaling on guarantees.
I remember being an apprentice and listening to their justification of the expense 'you only need to buy a Snap On tool once, unless you loose it'

My most recent gripe is my £70 ratchet with a pivoting head. The pivot pin has worn the holes in the head and handle and they are now oval. Not guaranteed. Fair wear and tear I am told. However, the new ones sport a modified pin and bushing system, surely an indication of a design flaw ?

My £2,500 toolbox runners wore through the drawers, not guarenteed. I managed to get my dealer to kindly stand the cost of what should have been fitted from the start, roller bearing runners.

I am finding more and more that other tool manufacturers are cheaper, still good quality and Snap-On have now taken away what made them a cut above. Where is the attraction to buy off them ?

    What is their motto....'quality isn't expensive, it's priceless' !!

    Obviously not.

    Dave
