What do you people do with K reg non Cat emission tests? Do you give the car a pre Aug. 93 test or a BET test ? Reason I ask is that a local MOT station near me recently failed a K reg. non cat sierra 2.0l after putting it through a BET because it was Aug 93 on which the car duly failed, the garage said that following a recent Vehicle Inspectorate visit any vehicles on a K plate have to go through the BET even though they will fail and the vehicle owner has to get a letter from the manufacturer or a dealer stating that the vehicle was indeed produced without a cat and the MOT station can then apply the pre Aug 93 emission test with the higher limits. this is the first time I have heard of this , my MOT station just applies the non cat test to catless k reg's, what do you all do ?
