    Hi Peter

I use Mailwasher Pro which is available to download at $29.99 from their website. You can set it to allow or block almost anything, takes a bit of messing about to set it up initially but then it automatically blocks mails from 'similar' sources i.e. the ones which are on an automated server which send out the spam we are all so used to. I agree with your comments on using homail but you have a limit to the number of addresses you can block, so eventually you can no longer add addresses to your blocked list.

Regarding the viruses from Microsoft, they are actually from a cloned email address to try and fool people into opening them expecting it to be from a trusted source. Do they take the form of some sort of update? I was warned about this a couple of weeks ago. The rule of thumb to follow is that all Microsoft updates are ONLY available via the update site. They do not send out emails about updates and if you get one you should delete it if your virus scanning software does not pick it up.

I have added the link for the Mailwasher website if anyone is interested. I have personally found it very effective.

    HTH

    Shaun
