Slow moving parts are the first to go. Fast moving parts may stay "live" at the dealer for years. Some examples: 1) I needed a Cabin Air temp sensor for my Ford 9 years after its manufacturer date - no longer stocked by Ford (hadn't been for 3 years)! As it was Bosch sensor I then ordered it under the Bosch number through my local spare parts shop - had it two days later. So sourcing outside the dealer network can find what they no longer carry. 2) Needed a washer pump and sealing grommet plus an idler pulley last week for the same vehicle (2nd time they have been replaced since I've had the vehicle). Ford said "how many do you want" Cheers Peter Wright
