    INSURANCE DILEMMA! Archived Message

    Dear All,
I Have a bit of a dilemma that I need your comments on please. As we all know, trade insurance seems to go up and now every year without reason. Now for my dilemma:A few weeks ago I managed to wreck my PMS100 scope and was advised by a repairing agent to claim from my insurance because of the extent of the damage.I have never claimed on our trade insurance in 13 years EVER!
I have said to him that it aint worth the hassle claiming due to the increase of premium,But we now think that the PMS100 is going to be a lot more expensive to replace than origianlly estimated.Thing is that we now pay £3700.00 per year which includes our maximum 50% no claims!!
If you cannot claim on your insurance without fear of even bigger premiums next year, then what is the point of having insurance at all????????
What would you gents do in my position? And what do you think my premium would do against a claim of around £2500 for a new PMS100 unit???
Your thoughts on this please gents.
    GUNNER
