Hi Steve,
Are you working at another Garage as a self-employed technician, or do you own/rent the place and all the tools etc?
To be honest if your net income is £135 for a 5 and half day week, you're getting ripped off or you're not charging enough.
If you are self employed and have your own tools and premises, you should be charging at the very least £20 per hour. You're selling your skills NOT your time.
