Just a quick response to my last input and to answer a few.

with regards to frank " working his charm, and being a good salesman" all i can say is that during the whole of the three days he didnt try to sell me anything, The scope sold itself, its fairly easy to use when set up, and as i said there are High frequency waveforms on items like the cam phase sensors, and control circuits on the idle speed control that the pms did not pick up and some that it did but due to itd slow sampling rate, were just shown a a line with a lot of noise, that could not be properly examined.
if you look at last months Professional Motor Mechanic, frank actually mentions the cam sensors and the need for a good scope.
Thanks for the advice on the lock ups, the one we used (Franks)performed faultlessly, although that may be because he has updated it, i will find out.
finally with regards to the training i will write again soon, as the responses may make this a long thread to follow
