I've had my Fluke 196c for approx 16 months now & have had no problems with it at all apart from a dodgy lead (through less than carefull handling). When i first bought it i had only just heard about the Pico & wasn,t sure how good it was & i don't think that they had brought out their automotive kit at that time either.I can't comment on the performance of the pico kit but the price of it is certainly appealing & the library of waveforms etc sound very helpfull especially if you haven't used a scope before & don't know what waveform you should be getting on a particular sensor/actuator.The portability of the Fluke is good, but if (like me)you have a laptop with Autodata etc on anyway it may not be a problem having the pico kit connected to it as well, but if you don't have a laptop don't forget to add the cost of one to the price of the pico kit, unless you only need it stationary(ie on a desktop pc) & don't plan on road testing with the scope. I know Frank Massey will probably give you his honest opinion on the pico & that if you ring & ask him he will probably do so.
