Over the past 25 years i have worked on many new cars, company owned, and leased
The lease companies stand was. Use OE service items for the first year as all cars come with a 1 year manufacturers warranty (by law), after that i was free to use aftermarket parts so long as they are a recognized brand
OE or Aftermarket?
I buy boxes of 20 filters at a time from Vauxhall and they work out at £1.10 each, so why pay more for Unipart, Coopers of Mann
I buy Cambelt Kits for Vectra's from Vauxhall for £60:00 and £72:00 from Unipart and Factor
Once that first year manufacturers warranty is up, then the rules of a free market should apply, even if the dealer/manufacturers slaps a 4 year warranty on that vehicle.
The removal of block exemption sweeps all this away, manufacturers/dealers are just putting spin on it for their own ends, to tell their customers anything else will just speed up the inevitable.....dealerships closing, techs joining the dole queue
