Well our one year old Ford needed some work doing under warranty. So today I rang to book it in, they straight away asked who had serviced the car, which I had. That wasnt a problem to them, but they needed proof that I'd used Ford parts (only an oil filter!). I had also used genuine parts so after a root around for the invoice all was ok. I'm sure the filter might well have been made by Mann, but do you really want all the hassle of arguing with them for the sake of a £5 filter?

Fords are ok in that their dealers are well stocked and deliver pretty often, but say an under warranty Suzuki service? where you actually might have to travel to get the oil filter if you want oe? it begins to look a less inviting job to do?

    James
