    Hi All,

I tend to be cynical, especially when it comes to anything government departments ( or executive agencies) get up to.
However all that I have seen of the new system leaves me impressed, except the delay in implementation. Perhaps it may spell the end of the cut-rate MoT and free re-test. I know that those garages that aren't testing stations may not want to see prices rise.
For those that are, it would be nice to see greater return on the very high investment costs.
In addition to streamlining the admin side, the system has built into it, a portal, which to a degree, allows VOSA to ascertain how long individual testers take to conduct a test. This should, they hope, weed out the guys short-cutting the test procedure on a regular daily basis.
Sensibly however, they are looking at bringing the re-test procedure into line with GVs, ie just re-testing the failed items, rather than the complete vehicle which is sometimes the case at present.
