    Hi Stuart

I first thought that you had got your figures wrong, but after some checking, yes you are right £851:00 Inc vat for the outright purchase of CD1 & CD2. At first impressions, it does seem a little steep, but if you do not intend to update for say 3 years then that is only £241:00 plus vat a year. As it is the latest CD, i would not have thought that to much more would be added over the next 3 years that you would be missing out on, unless you see a lot of new vehicles

Yes, there are probably many holes in their data (as one unhelpful member pointed out, before i deleted the post), but considering the amount of vehicles, variations and the way manufacturers change specifications, and add electrical stuff on just a few models, then you would expect some errors or bits left out......they are only able to compile what the manufacturers are willing to give them

Coming back to prices and info

I have the Bosch ESi to help with diagnosing engine management faults, i have Unipart-Direct for service schedules and repair times, i have most of the Autodata manuals (Tech data, airbags, cambelts, ECM pin out ect), and a very old Autodata CD. But when you sit back and add all that up, it does make the Autodata CD's sound pretty reasonable

I don't want to high jack your post Stuart, but i would also like to hear some comments from members about the CAPS CD, is this basically the same as the ESi?, or is this another worth while technical data purchase

Perhaps a day out at the NEC, and a visit to the Autodata stand may be beneficial Stuart
