    Thanks for the reply. I think the confusion is because 'I am the repairer'. A third party damaged one of MY vehicles ( non fault ) my insurance told me to invoice the third party via them for cost of emergency repairs so obviously I charged the VAT as per normal. They then claimed the costs from the third party and then paid out to me but did not pay the VAT content to me, ( bet they got it from third party though ). Perhaps I should deduct it from my VAT return and tell C&E to collect it from ins: co:
