Hi JohnMany members like you and i have details about being members of UK AutoTalk on our websites, and some have a logo on their headed paper.
If you look at the logo's they are using, it's just copied, then squeezed/stretched to fit the purpose, and to customers it does not mean much
By creating a specific logo, that identifies all members as being part of the UK Automotive Technicians Network, then this will tell our customers that we are a professional body of Automotive Technicians that exchange information and services via the UK AutoTalk forums
We are no longer just a bunch of guys using a website to swop info. We now have members from every part of the motor trade all willing to help out when ever they can (on and off the web)
So i think its about time we gave ourselves an identity that our customers can relate to. I am in the process of having a sign designed for the front of my workshop based on the new logo (will post a pic when done)
I just feel that its about time that my customers new that i belong to a "Network" of professional technicians and suppliers, rather that just having the logo of a parts supplier adorning my garage front promoting their product FREE (and having their business associates sending me junk mail and cold calling on the phone). By being part of the UKAT network i can just deal with suppliers and brand names that i can trust and have come recommended by other members, and if i have a problem, then help is just a post or phone call away)
The UK AutoTalk website will remain unchanged
Who knows what the future holds, with a "Network" of professional techs and suppliers
Peter
