i dont totaly blame the main agents on this issue mate.I have had numerous vehicles on 52/53 plates mainly bmw and vauxhall's which we have serviced and as you say the dealers have just stipulated using genuine parts. i believe and have found through speaking to my customers who have 'new' cars when they call in for bulbs etc that most of them just take it as gospel that they have to go back to the main agents for service. i agree with you that our customers are buying new or almost new cars regular now and its a market we have to target as there is substantion wonga to be made. thing is...do we advertise this fact about the warranty still been valid if serviced elsewhere in a hope to get extra work or will it bite us in the butt?? i serviced a 53 corsa a few weeks ago after assuring the customer her warranty would be ok. she later went to vauxhall for some warranty work, they inspected her service book and declined to do it,she then presented them with our invoice which i had marked on the genuine parts. they said we couldnt do a service for that price using genuine parts and sent her away. i personally drove her car with her back to vauxhall, and removed the filters to show them, suffice to say they did the work. just one pointer as to where we could get hastle. sean
