Would it be possible for the more knowledgeable amongst you to be able to post some more subjects in the archives "interesting subjects" section?
Such as ; 1. How can you tell when a management system is self adaptive or not & whether & when it requires the adaptions resetting?

2.In general what should fuel trim (long term & short term) values be (in my experience they seem to range from 0% on some & from 100% on others) and what sort of margin is allowed before the mil comes on?

3.How many times does a fault have to occur & what type of fault (emission related or otherwise)before the mil comes on etc

4.What is the minimum/maximum an injector will usually shut down/open up to;(single point, multipoint, sequential) in percentage terms of its' usual opening time?

I will probably get one or two replies saying don't be stupid, most systems are different or how come you haven't learnt these things on all the courses that you've been on etc
It would be useful, but probably difficult to list different engine management systems & say whether they are adaptive/not adaptive, whether they need an immobiliser signal to enable them, what faults can cause them to go into limp mode etc.
Maybe posting the common faults from the car mechanics books or magazines' diagnostic section under the vehicle manufacturer or system would be possible & helpful ,but maybe an impossible task.
    ANY THOUGHTS!!
Sorry if these questions seem a bit stupid to some of you & for showing my lack of knowledge, but it would help a lot of inexperienced technicians(like me)get to learn a lot more & a lot quicker.
    Regards,Andrew
