Alan, 'Cause all the work is being done under warranty/recall. The service work is now carried out by a customer. You're quite right, that by holding the wastegate closed it is proving engine/turbo is OK, but as you say, something is causing early wastegate opening. The boost pressure sensor is OK, this is proven on live data, the fuel pressure will run to in excess of 2050 bar under full load/hard acceleration. So there can't be much else to cause the problem. The 'tech' at the dealer reckoned all the HDi's do this, unless you get them 'chipped' or remapped. Which is what I'm going to have done now. Regards Rob.
