We to have noticed a slow trickle of new vehicles coming in for servicing.
There have been several articles in the newspapers and a feature article in Aprils 'What Car' about non franchise servicing and how the manufacturers are lying to the consumer about this. They give the 'rules' for non franchised servicing.
I have photocopied this article and put it up in the reception area and it has been well reaqd and comented on. I have also done a small leaflet and attatch it to all invoices informing people of their choices re servicing and have also had a good response.
This week we have included the 'servicing of new vehicles without invalidating warranty' in our weekly advert - await to see what response this brings.
We do use genuine man.parts, we get regular deliveries so this is not a problem. I had one customer who had a two year old Suzuki that we had serviced and put a Fram oil filter on. He had a knock from the big end and they said it would not be covered under warranty as non original parts were used but he persisted with them and they investigated and repaired it under warranty - it turned out not to be related in anyway with the servicing but a manufacturing fault. This is why I stick to genuine parts - also I think with a new car customers like to have genuine parts fitted (even though they will probably be made but the companied that make the aftermarket parts!)
