    Hi Tony

I can probably answer some of your questions, i have been with cardsave for 4 years

Yes the machine rental is £23.95 a month plus vat, this is paid quarterly, so £80ish every 3 months. There are a few other benefits included in the price, such as insurance against a inland revenue audit

    The rates i have are:

    1.3% for Master/Visa
    £00:20 for Maestro/Switch
1.8% for Corporate Cards (Company Cards)
Amex -- don't bother anymore, to much hassle

Did not know this at the time (did not read all the small print and was not told by the selling agent ) but its a 4 year contract, if you wish to leave within the 48 months you will have to pay 12 months rental as a get out

If you wish to leave the scheme at any time you must give them 12 months notice in writing

I did look around at other suppliers, but as i am a sole trader without a mega turnover, they could not better the rates i had, possibly only the rental charge. Most of my business is done on cards

Like Shaun i did have some hassle with the chip and pin, it took about 5 phone calls to sort out, but now works ok.......that's computers for you

So personally i will stick with cardsave for now. And yes we did advertise cardsave on this site. I originally spoke to the owner, if all members decided to use cardsave, we could probably get a very good rate for all, but he got no response from members, so i withdrew the banner

    HTH

    Peter

PS: There was no extra charges for the setting up or running of the additional pin terminal
