    I know, it seems a staggering ammount of dosh for a gloryfied kitchen can crusher (the sort of thing you can buy from lakeland for a tenner!)

    Admittedly Oil filters are a little more substantial but not that much so.

    I think what it comes down to is that these commercial crushers are electrohydralic and automatic in operation. They are probabally also festooned with all those various expensive safety features so beloved of by HSE.

    If you were a huge workshop with half a dozen service bays each doing 7 services a day (or more) you would need to employ somebody full time to crush filters by hand and a machine like this would be a valid investment.

    A one-man-band in a lock up would be better off using a modified bearing press. It is a shame the manufacturors dont provide cost effective equipment for the little guy! (but then they never do do they! )
