Tony I've stopped doing work a long time ago for the likes of Warranty Holdings which I think are now deceased. I found I was dealing with idiots who would only give a feeble hourly rate and I had to give a fixed price regardless of the type of repair before they would authorise. This was after they had checked that the vehicle wasn't one day over it's due service time which made the warranty null and void.

A couple of years ago we were doing a lot of repairs for a big second hand car sales outfit. They were also disillusioned with these companies so they started off their own scheme. They charged the same amount for the car's warranty and put the money in a holding account. They sold pretty good newish vehicles and soon found that their holding account runneth over which they of course had to spend no doubt on very nice holidays and more gold rings and chains.

I was quite impressed with the scheme and how well it seemed to work for them.

    Hope this helps
