Hi Tony I agree with you about Goverment run MOT testing Stations, but, having just spoken to people from Northern Ireland, their waiting time for an MOT is 6 weeks! In fact most people are making a short ferry trip to Scotland for their MOT. We are getting along fine with the new system, we found the reason for all our errors, encluding smart card malfunctions, have occurred on our side of the keyboard! The help desk are prompt and quite willing to help, however you have to bear in mind that they are on a learning curve as well. Couple of things we've found, if you enter your password incorrectly more than 3 times your card will be locked, the help desk can unlock your card. If you issue the spare smart card don't put the reason as "damaged" otherwise the original card will not be able to be used, put the reason as "missing". I'm sure once we have found our way around the software things will be fine, remember your first accounts software, now how difficult was that at first!
