Perhaps i am being a bit cynical here, but after talking to my MOT station today, it does make one wonder
I thought the idea of computeristion was that you typed in the registration number and it brought up ALL the vehicle details which you can check against the vehicle
But it seems quite the reverse.
I have used systems such as Unipart Direct, but found the Reg Look Up a little flaky as sometimes virtually no details are given, or it may be a 2.0 litre but does not know if it is Petrol or Diesel!!
Over the next 2 years virtually every vehicle will have been through a computerised test and every detail about the vehicle must be entered
What a fantastic database Siemens will end up with, probably better than DVLA. This gives them an excellent database to license to Motor Factors, Dealers, Independents and the like
I hope you MOT Testers/Data Entry Technicians will be well rewarded for your time compiling this information for them
