Hi AllHad a letter in the post this morning demanding money or else!.....has any one else had one?
As from 16th July, if you are a producer of hazardous waste (which all garages are) under the NEW regulations garages must have a "Premises Code", any hazardous waste collector can refuse to collect your waste. Obtaining a "Premises Code" will cost you £28:00 for 12 months, not a fortune, but yet another "STEALTH TAX" and more Brussels RED TAPE
Hazardous waste:
Oil
Oil Filters
Antifreeze
Brake Fluid
Batteries
Parts Washing Fluid
Contaminated Rags and Wipes
Contaminated Granules
Mixed Fuels
Scrap Tyres
Fluorescent Tubes
You must now prove that you are storing and disposing of them correctly and separately, or heavy fines will be imposed
I also rang my local council, (environmental services/trade waste collection) they new nothing of the new regulations
Today was not a good day
Someone from Brussels had got into my works last night, and left a note saying that i had already worked more that 48 hours this week, so no more work can be done, so looks as if UKAT will have to close because of all the extra hours.....sorry!
Red Tape will finally bring all us sole traders and small businesses to our knees, we cannot keep paying out for every new rule and regulation
