Business sale agents

Considering selling my repair & MoT business & have had a meeting with SBS Commercial one of many companies who market your business for "wait for it" £800 and take 3% of the final sale price.Any one heard of this outfit or any experience dealing with with them or any other experiences.

Yes, had a bad experience a few years ago with one of these companies. Check the duration of the contract and the restrictions applied therein. Also check the quality of the portfolio that they make for you. There are also other issues with these agents.

Thanks for reply.Reading the small print its a 12 month contract,£800 marketing fee up front which includes a glossy brochure & entries in several magazines & websites etc.SBS Commercial vet all prospective purchasers & chase up solicitors etc for a commission of 3%(minimum fee £4000).It also appears that if you sell during that period even if they have not introduced that person the commission is still payable.
As in all trades there are good & bad so I ask are these guys good!!!
.Finally which alternative route did you try?? Once again thanks for the interest.
