MVRA membership

Hi all,

We received our annual MVRA membership invoice today. Although the basic fee has increased roughly in line with inflation, they've now introduced different options. Probably the main reason we joined was for assistance & representation within the MoT scheme. To get this is now is an optional extra, adding 40% to an already fairly hefty fee.
What do any other MoT members think? Is anyone reconsidering their membership in the light of this increase? Does anyone have any experience of The MoT Club?

We are members of the RMI (or is it the RMIF), yet again quite a substancial fee for very little return. I suppose this is in part our fault, we have never needed their help with any legal matters etc. They have a technical advice line which has been helpfull on a couple of occasions, but it probably comes down to the fact you only get out what you put in, we only contact them with problems, they only contact us to ask for money....

We were members of the MOT club a few years ago, but again we got little for our money.

Maybe I'm getting sceptical in my old age, but I'm thinking of cancelling all my memberships and putting the money in my own back pocket.

Would anyone like to join the federation of people no longer in federations..... fee £300 per year....

We have just had our membership renewed at nearly £600 for the year including VAt.I tend to agree with Nigel and wonder if it is a waste of money.The Mvra guys are very good though and we do use the tech help line a lot.I am still not sure if it is worth £600 though.
