The Great Global Warming Swindle
Posted by John Kennard on March 21, 2007, 2:13 pm Unfortunately he is using the current scare tactics about global warming to tax us to death. When will politicos & green activists wake up to the fact that global warming has nothing to do with Co2 and is a completely natural set of circumstances out of our control. Never mind Gordon is a master of using the current one sided debate to his advantage. I don't know how long it is going to take for people to wake up to the fact that we are being ripped off and unnecessarily worried to death by a band wagon of anti capitalist, medieval seeking war mongers. Thats not to say we don't need to look after a dwindling supply of natural fossil fuels. With the right encouragement and pressure on industry to develop alternative energy sources because of such precious resources ebbing away, we need to get down to proper debate without all the scare tactics and people joining the Co2 band wagon for their own political ends? I feel that we need as an industry to understand the issues and form our own informed arguments and not look upon our industry with a guilt complex because so many think we are the bad boys.

I was however disapointed to read in the Sunday Independent that one of the scientists who was interviewed for the programme is now suing Channel Four claiming they quoted him out of context and mis-represented his view of the subject. Posted by Steve Kefford on March 22, 2007, 4:09 am, in reply to "The Great Global Warming Swindle " Something conveniently forgotten by the powers that be is the fact that more environmental damage is caused manufacturing a new car than that car will cause in it's entire life, this is even more so with these hybrid cars with the extra batteries and electronics. So surely the "greenest" vehicle would be the one over 10 years old and well maintained, as we all know the technology exists to make vehicles much longer lasting but the car manufacturers make a powerful lobby.
