Handbook notices

Serviced a "56" reg Citroen Relay today and noticed two big yellow notices on pages 72 + 73 stating
"HDI engines are of a highly technical nature.
All maintenance and repairs require specific qualifications which only your CITROEN Dealer can guarantee"
I thought it was illegal for the dealers to put this type of complete lie (bulls***) in the handbooks now???

It is completely illegal for an EU government to fund car manufacturers but Citroen Renault Peugeot receive state help.
So the handbook thing doesn't surprise me.As the French would say "ça ne fait rien"

I suppose if we all take the attitude that it "does not matter" then the French have won.
I think we need to take some action, just making the news and alerting Joe public would be some achievement.

I assume that should read je ne regret rien but why is there a chinese character that means in cantonese from the shezuan province that translates as the french capitulated to the germans in WW2

Re-arranged it comes out as Re-entering Jeer. A chapter title from the Silk Road.
Getting clearer? Jeer as you probably know Barry, is a village in China in -as you so cleverly noted-the Schuan province (responsible for the discovery of willow pattern plates,bound feet,chop sticks and other famous piano ditties ) and in its heyday (1302AD) it became host to that most famed explorer Marco VW Polo his father and uncle Mafeo (founder of the famous Venetian Mafeoso an institution that still bears his name today!).

I think the French won when we joined the Common Market and they got the E on the end of Concord.
Seriously tho.
The point I made quite badly is,whether or not the public is made aware, it is big business who have the clout to see this through,it is their money that will win out at the end of the day. Making the public aware is OK but it will have no effect unless they were to become organized,something we Brits are world renowned for not doing as opposed to the French who seem to be able to blockade ports at the drop of an hat.
If there were an E petition? I doubt very much if it would receive more than a few signs from Joe Public.
I do have the Right to Repair article next to my VOSA stuff as well as the proposed 4.2.2 thing with additional laminated copies on the magazine table but very few people read them or comment on them.

he cant reply as he is at the Edinburgh fringe. but he thanks you for your comments.
I did put his last through my computer ( I still have the CD ROM from GCHQ) and the best translation I could get was "bull shit" I dont know if that was for the whole reply or just the bit about YAK droppings.

I dont know what drugs Harry was refering to but I was once at a party at 3 AM playing wish you were here on an out of tune guitar with nylon strings and listening to people droning on about how creative they all were and so superior to those of us that just worked and got on with it but I didnt inhale so couldnt attain their level of enlightenment--hang on I must of inhaled I once married one
