2 post lifts

Hi All
looking to purchase a 5 ton 2 post lift,;
like to know your opinions of what to buy or more importantly not to buy.
Have looked at info from net and reps and there is such a choice.
Would have preferred hydraulic,but now been told mechanical is better?
Want to lift Iveco daily 3.0 lte mini busses among others,these have a 2 mte overhang with a wheelchair lift at back,so want something steady.

I have a 5 tonne two post Bend Pak lift. It's American & as most things American its simple but effective

. Single phase too & will lift a vehicle fully in around 60 seconds.

My workshop is not very high though, so raising larger vehicles is a problem. I have a pit to cover those needs.

Earlier this year we installed a Stertil Koni 5 ton, two post lift and it's absolutely brilliant! The layout of the arms mean that it is incredibly versatile so will lift anything from a Matiz to a mini-bus and more. We were lucky to pick this up at a liquidation sale but wouldn't hesitate to pay proper money when one of our others needs replacing. The build quality is superb with only the german built Hoffmans coming close (IMO).

We have a Rotary 5 ton 2 post, we use it for extra long iveco lutons with no problems. They are available with extra long 3-stage arms (at extra cost), we tried these, but standard was plenty good enough, and still low enough to lift a normal car. We did however go for extra height extension ( as its a baseless hydraulic).

Quality excellent, back up from Hex Holdings also good

I would avoid buying off Hoffman / Maywood garage equip. I had a bad experiance with warrenty issue & parts supply
