H7 bulb failure

Hi has anybody had Bosch H7 number blb499 blowing the glass portion seems to explode to dust after a day or so i have contacted my supplier (Pages) they contacted Bosch who said there has been no reports of premature failure but i have had seven in the last month thanks chris

Can't comment on the bosch ones, we use eu499, much cheaper and never had any problems.

Interesting Chris we supply Bosch bulbs & have had a customers car blow 4 of these in 4 weeks just as you explain. I for one will double Boschs complaints by 50%.

halogen bulbs blowing on the same car usually indicates overcharging--I always examine the filament i.e. has it melted.

There seems to be a lot of crap components around at the moment, Cheap Chinese bulbs auto and domestic, poorly refined precious metals.
Made in Germany, usually means the old east near the polish border. Made in the USA -mexico. Volvo reverse sensors OE made in Russia. Cats with about a micron of coating. MAF's from the pound shop

It's hard to know just what label is quality now

i know what you mean about quality but the bulbs are on all different cars none on the same car i checked the first one for overcharge 14.2v also its the way the bulb blows the element remains intact but the glass portion seems to explode in to dust
