Card Machines / Best deals / Petrol and repairs

Hi Guys

We are a garage and petrol station, we have for many years used the "Jet system" run by RSM2000. We are going independent and Jet are in the process of taking back all their signs card machines etc. I would just like to ask you guys who you think is the best "Card processor" to deal with baring in mind it's not just the garage invoices that will be going through the system but also the petrol sales and the margin on fuel is very slim indeed.

We bank with Lloyds and they use Cardnet.

Your thoughts or any feed back to who you think are good companies to deal with would be a step in the right direction for us.

Hi John

We were originally with Alliance Leicester/Girobank and they were pretty good. Then joined Streamline through an FSB deal (there credit card rates were better than the others but debit cards not as good, but once I'd done a spreadsheet itemising it all decided they would be cheaper in the long run).

Finally, our banks have never been able to get close to the rates we've had but we are also with lloyds-TSB now and have a good relationship and they came to us recently and said whatever the deal we had they would either match it or beat it just to get our business and keep it all under the one roof.

We now have a rate that even Streamline weren't prepared to match/beat. Yes it meant signing another 3 year lease deal on the machine with a stricter cancellation policy than Streamline, but they are saving us money (both rates and rental).

So shop around and then go back to Lloyds and see what they can do for you.

try CARDSAVE google should find, if not I can get contact details later.

I have used them for 10 yrs approx, good rates and no problems to date

Hi men

Many thanks for your help and info it's amazing how much you can learn in a day when you really have to. It's seems like you have to go to all the major companies get their rates and negotiate for the best deal. Card Save / Streamline have come up in the conversations more than once today as have Lloyds. We've got a meeting with Card Save on Tuesday so I'll get the thumb screws oiled up ready :-)

A speacial mention of thanks to Steve Norman who took the time to give me a ring today with some excellent information.

protection,discounts from other sources.

Hi All.
Trying to go with cardsave now, be prepared to be asked LOTS more question,s than the rest.So make sure you have a complete speadsheet to hand.
