Parts supply #

I normally confine my activities to air-con but was recently "persuaded" to replace some broken bits of a fiesta mk6 front suspension.I've used my local Unipart for new mcpherson struts. I was under the impression that new struts should be fitted in pairs. Supply difficulties resulted in two different manufacturer's struts being supplied.I rejected these and asked for a matching pair.One strut was supplied with the plastic bump stop and no top nut - and the other with just the top nut and no bump stop. What's the norm if you obtain a new strut? Does it come with both top nut and bump stop? I feel i'm being given the run around!

Sounds typical of the supplier you have chosen. The type of thing that stops us using them very much. In fairness I would not expect either item, I do expect consistancy.

In the past I have even rejected a faulty part only to have it delivered next time I ordered same thing.

always fit a pair of the same make and number
you wouldnt fit brake pads from mixed manufacturers on the same axle would you !
were both boxes sealed i bet not ,we get it all the time boxes opened bits missing
easy you want a bit, order it take out what you want send it back
then the next poor sod gets it with bits missing
we have had stuff from unipart boxes held together with masking tape etc
we even had a set of discs with copaslip on the back
some b******d had fitted them and took them back off

Hi and thanks for the comments.
Still not sure whether either or both or non of the top nut and bump stop SHOULD be included in the box.
As you say box has been opened previously.
It gets worse! I also ordered the upper mounting bearing. Picture on the box looked OK - opened it to find a totally different type of bearing inside!
Good job there's no rush on this one!
