Business Lost #

Is there a facility on UK/AT for potential customers to contact a member in a particular area for work to be done.

As I am now semi-retired and only do Diagnostics, but having traded now for 30yrs as Autotune.
I receive quite a few calls from around the country for work to be done.

I usually refer them to the UK/AT site but most ring back saying they have had no sucess.

I have at present a guy with a non starting Jaguar e-Type in the Cannock,Staffs area, who needs help.

Please advise

Great idea in principal

But UKAT is a closed forum, we could not have a searchable database for the public. This would put members contact details into the open, many individuals and companies could use the contact details for marketing or cold calling for sales

Our membership also consists of garage owners and technicians (employed), I am sure they would not want to take calls for quotes etc while working for the boss

I see Pete's point this is a closed members only forum so to open to anyone looking for help would be counter productive & info would be less secure.

A way that we could offer help to those away from home is if the postcode search was improved, ie I just searched for GL gloucester post code & found Sean Mcgettigan who is in Glasgow & many others in Glamorgan!! If the search criteria were tightened then a truer postcode search could be done to help those we may know who need help away from our area.

Hi Peter,
would it not be easy to set a members directory for members that wanted to place their company details and any specialist services that they offer on it.

Therefore the people that owned businesses and wanted there details available to the public could and those who do not don't. Just my thoughts. I for one would welcome it.

Hi Guys
Any development on this.
I read with interest Mark & Pete's comments but nothing seems to have happened and many customers have been lost to UKAT

I did persevere with a mate in Yorkshire who had problems,sent him to Sean Savage and now he is a regular customer.

Incidentally James the guy in question appeared recently on Corrie as the Fire Chief to Eileen's boyfriend. See what your missing
