Dear All
I trust you guys will cut me a little slack in posting on here again asking for your support.....was it really only 12 months ago that we did it last?
As most of you will know, it's starting to become a bit of habit as my partner Louise and I will be soon taking part in our 10th Great North Run up on Tyneside on the 19th September.
To cut a long story short, everything is a bit hectic at the moment, so we've not done as much training as normal and as always left it late to try and generate some sponsorship.
We had thought about changing charities for this year as even though we get excellent support from everyone around the country we are aware that our chosen charity (The Christie Cancer Hospital in Manchester) isn't as national as some of the others. However, they do an amazing job at The Christie and do appreciate all the money that is raised for them.
As usual we have set up an on-line page on the justgiving.com website which can be found at the link below. There is more information on the page about the run and the charity.
We appreciate that given the current economic climate that we won't be able to match the amazing response we had from all of you last year, but any donation you make, whatever the size will be greatly appreciated by us and The Christie.
Just a reminder that you can watch the run live on BBC1 on Sunday......we'll try and remember to wave at the cameras if we see them
Big thanks to everyone who has sponsored us......and don't worry if you haven't yet, there's plenty of time, our JustGiving web page will be accepting donations for quite a while

Hi Everyone,
Just to let you know we did it
The day started of quite wet but luckily dropped to just a drizzle as we made our way to the start (about a 2 mile walk). The drizzle stopped and we got on our way.
We both run at our own pace and I think the circuit training paid off this year as even though we didn't do as much running as we had hoped, we both managed to keep good paces up. So much so, we both improved on last year's times which was unexpected. Louise managed a time 2 hours 3 mins 47 secs and I did it in 1 hour 54 mins 33 secs. Both these times are personal bests.
It was great to see so many people running for charity.....it makes you feel very humble. The support from everyone watching cheering and clapping helps tremendously to get to the end.
Unfortunately while watching the Red Arrows at the end, the heavens opened and everyone got soaked, but despite that and the 4 mile walk back to the B&B via the ferry and the metro, we still felt very pleased with our success.
We're even more pleased to see the great support we've had from all the guys on here. So a big, big thanks to David, Steve, Roger, Mike, Aidan and Glyn...thanks guys
We're recovering in the B&B after a big roast dinner and then driving back tomorrow before being back to work on Tuesday.
Cheers
Sean & Louise
P.S. Our JustGiving web page will still accept donations for a quite a while for anyone else who wishes to support The Christie.
