So, just to clarify the situation...
Some genius decided a few years ago, that the state of the economy was such that the threat to the car manufacturing industry justified a car-scrappage scheme that was not only wasteful but made little environmental sense - but, hey-ho, let's do it anyway.
Now, when a bigger industry is threatened, not to mention the risk to road safety and a real chance that road-deaths will increase in number, let's introduce some mad-cap scheme on a tenuous premise that it will "save the motorist some expense" and "bring us into line with the EU's aims" (WHY? for ****'s sake!?)
It really is about time we were listened to but I'm afraid we're still seen as a mob of knuckle-draggers who really have nothing of value to offer or say...and I state, again, that by offering cut-price services, some in our industry are doing themselves (and us) no good at all!
