Advice on tech info, Bosch ESi #

hi guys.i need advice on which tech info you think is better.i only work on pugs and citroen,yeah I know im a crazy nutter.also im in Australia.i currently subscribe to auto data and find some sections lacking for what I want when trying to diag a tricky run fault.ive looked at bosch esi from the local guy,it seems more in depth for wiring diagrams and what ive strugled with is how to test certain sensors and what values I should be getting.auto data seems to give me generic advice on this.auto data is 1200.00 aus a year.the bosch esi is 444.00 for the sis service,276.00 for the wiring diagrams a year.thats all I think ill need from bosch.i asked the agent if its ok to buy the data and hang off buying the next years as my needs wouldn't require a update every year,maybe every second and if so is the info timed bombed so I cant look at it,he said no only the hardware is with the software loaded into it.what do you think,cheers stu

As you only work on PSA vehicles then the obvious choice must be the manufactures tech info sites. As you are specialist I cannot understand why you would not have this access already.

Agree with above, I don't currently Specialise but have started using manufacturer tech sites and the information is incredible. You can pay by the hour and download or print everything you need.

yeah good call I was going to check it out.ive logged on but not the pay section yet.ive always had this feeling that the French don't even sell the info you need.maybe im wrong on this.i thought ide check out what people thought about bosch info first as another option.thanks for help.

Well as far as bosch go, I have only used it on bosch courses but it looks pretty good, works very well alongside kts. Some guys say it's the best aftermarket info but others say it's full of holes. I always find its best just to try it out as everyone will have a different opinion. I was just about to switch to it for the next year but autodata have informed me that it's swithcing to the new system, so going to stick it out and see how it goes.

At the end of the day day it's still bosch, it's never going to be a bad, just not perfect.

I go along with the comment above, as a specialist I subscribe to the makers site and buy their information which has to be a better option than buying in a third party interpretation of what they sell ! In my opinion anyway.
As specialists we must have the VM info otherwise we just become someone who does a lot of whatever make, when a member of the public drops a car with me I go out of my way to reinforce the fact that we use the makers tech info and bulletins etc and don't rely on the "other experts" such as the web, Google etc.
I have to say that the money spent on Topix in our case is money well spent.

I only have the basic Bosch troubleshooting SIS software and I actually like it. Only had a couple of issues with it being incorrect or not to sure how closely to follow the guides but overall I find it easy to use.

Just covers
SRS
ABS
Engine Management

on most models then add ons for some others. I think you can add other discs to it such as the extra wiring diagrams which I believe are similar to autodata but haven't a clue on costs.

ill look into the vm site more closely and see what costs.does anyone know if there are nutters like me that just do pugs and citroen in the uk on this site.cheers
