Employee management #

Good morning.

Just wondering how many of you who have employees, Manage them?

i have been quite relaxed for the past few years and have been happy so long as the work is being done! but lately its almost as if i need to hold hands and guide them! iv given one of the guys a final warning this morning for continuously being late, its almost as if they are not bothered!

Things are going to change!

i need to get out of the mindset that i need them more than they need me...

How many of you run a tight ship and how many of you are quite laid back about employees

Hi Kris
I employ 2 guys and am also relax, but you are entering a mine field, you cant say boo to anyone with out it being mis interpreted.
I subscribed to a company that do all my employment matters contracts, holiday forms etc etc.
They keep me on the straight and narrow as far issuing warnings and will represent me in court if it came to that.
Worth the peace of mind

Ahh Peninsula... they have been hounding me for months!

i did make the mistake of showing a little interest, but the cost was just far too much!
£1800Per year or something stupid!!

We use RMI for all the contracts etc.

I'm in the same boat as you on the other stuff, when I introduced a clocking in machine, it was as if the world had ended....

I spend £90 PCM with Peninsular, has been worth the money.

Can call them 24/7 always helpful and quick. They rewrote all my employment contracts and dealt with a very difficult dismissal.

Made sure all my legal was spot on. All for the subs price no extras.

Took all the stress away.

PS Staff are the biggest headache, cars are easy.....

we use peninsular & although the initial outlay hurts , they are all over it when you have a disaplinary issue,otherwise im afraid its all guess work & one simple mistake & court here we come. also they helped us get on top of the H&S in both workshops, which i believe in this sue society is just as important.good money well spent,cheaper than a tribunal!.HTH keith
