Well i don't know how many of you are involved with MOT Testing but i'm starting to get a bit fed up with the whole set up. First the MOT fee hasn't gone up for 6 years it costs me to buy printing paper no cost before training now costs money didn't before, i brought another laptop for in workshop use to replace DVSA device ( optional) Private bodies getting involved with training etc making money out of MOT testing stations and testers (optional) can be done in house. To become a tester will now cost at least £2000 no cost before. The annual training and assessments leaves it self open to abuse. All calibrations have gone back to hard copy as has QC which used to be logged online. DVSA are now like a police force they'll leave you alone unless they have hear of a problem This is progress? I can tell you what will happen there will a major incident or accident some where in the country DVSA will be held to task as regards vehicle safety (as with the crew bus accident years ago involving seat belt applications etc) and then they'll come down on MOT testing stations and standards. DVSA your going backwards I'm affraid
